Configure your school settings, payment options, notifications, and more to suit your school's needs.
After setting up your account, you can configure SkoolWisely to match how your school operates. This includes your school information, fee structures, notification preferences, and payment settings. All configuration is done from the Settings section of your dashboard.
Your school profile is the first thing to complete. Go to Settings → School Profile and fill in:
SkoolWisely organises fee collection by academic session and term. Before generating any invoices, set up your current academic calendar:
Add all the classes in your school so students can be assigned correctly. Navigate to Class Structures → Classes and create each class (e.g., JSS 1, JSS 2, SS 1, Primary 1, etc.). You need to group them by level — Primary, Junior Secondary, or Senior Secondary by creating Sections first.
This is one of the most important configurations. Under Fee Management → Fee Structures, define every type of fee your school charges:
You can set different amounts per class level, so a Primary 1 student and an SS 3 student can have different fee totals.
Configure how your school receives payments. Go to Settings → Payment Settings and provide your school's bank details. SkoolWisely partners with trusted Nigerian financial institutions to ensure payments are received securely.
You can allow parents to pay fees in installments rather than a lump sum. This is automatically available without any need for further configuration:
Enabling installments reduces the number of parents who struggle to pay at once, which increases your overall collection rate.
SkoolWisely can automatically remind parents about unpaid invoices. Go to Settings → Notifications to configure:
Control what each staff member can see and do within SkoolWisely. Go to Settings → Staff Room. Available roles include:
Schools on the Premium plan can enable custom branding — your invoices and receipts will carry your school's colours and logo without any SkoolWisely branding. You can also create custom report templates tailored to your school's needs.
Use this checklist to make sure your school is fully configured before going live:
